I really love your tone work on Very Near Mint.

I've used MangaStudio for awhile now, but my tones always come out too chunky or with a heavy moire pattern. Do you have any tips you can share?

Thanks! I appreciate that!

Moire patterns are the worst, and I feel like I haven’t run into much of a problem using Manga Studio.  I think you can experience problems if you end up resizing the artwork afterwards, in Photoshop or something… are you doing any of that?

Also, don’t flatten your tones into the artwork. I believe that also can make them “chunky”… I always leave the tones as separate layers. My two favorite tones are 55 lines, 20% darkness and 65 lines, 10 % darkness.

I can also give you my export settings, maybe that will help!

Let me know if any of this helped! We’ll get to the bottom of the problem one way or another!
