I’m giving away a one-of-a-kind copy of Very Near Mint vol. 1 over at the VNM Facebook page.
This is a blank cover printer proof of vol. 1, with the complete normal insides… so I whipped up a cover sketch. With my left hand. (I draw right handed.)
It’s a recreation of the actual cover for vol. 1… just left handed. Why? Because it would have been easy to draw it right handed! And that’s no fun, right? Right.
Hey everyone!
I’m getting a ton of new followers from the post this afternoon about Very Near Mint 2. It occurred to me that some of you MAY not know what the hell Very Near Mint is! So, here’s a super brief introduction:
VNM a comic about a comic shop… it’s the story of two dudes, Colin and Sam, who run the Splash Page, their comic book shop. In volume 1, the new comics for the week don’t show up on time, they get a new employee Nate, a rival comic shop opens up across the street, and all hell breaks loose. (In a hilarious way, of course!)
In volume 2 (which is brand new!), things just keep getting worse. The rival shop across the street (called Across the Street Comics, naturally) has taken all of the Splash Page’s customers. Sam has some plans on how to fix it, but Colin just doesn’t see how it can ever get better. Once again, all hell breaks loose… again (it’s a comic, it’s supposed to!)…
You can check out previews here for both volumes here. Huzzah!
My pals Paul and Tara have a brand new comic coming out just in time for MoCCA. It’s awesome. I had the honor of reading it WELL before all of you did (HAHA!)… but hey, that’s the perks of friendship, right?
Seriously though, it’s great. If you’re in NYC or at MoCCA, do yourself a favor and jump on this.
