Tales from the Art Graveyard
Sometimes, no matter how much you like something or how long you’ve worked on it, things get rejected or you scrap it. These are two of those kinds of works.
Number One…
I did this sketch a couple months back. I dusted it off, prettied it up, and sent it into my “boss” to see if we’d use it for anupcoming (REDACTED) job.
NOPE. DOA.
So, I did another sketch, a completely different idea. It remains to be seen if the new concept will be used. My guess is “no”, but we’ll see.

Number Two…
Here’s a half completed illustration for a Matt & Kim concert poster. There was a contest in which you’d win a fistful of free tickets (the Thermals are on the bill, which is why I was doing it. But Matt & Kim are fun, too) and some swag from both bands.
After spending an hour or so with this, I decided that my time was better spent doing… well… anything else. My heart is with Very Near Mint and some other ideas Lee and I are brewing, so spending time doing a free poster for a contest I probably wouldn’t have won isn’t my idea of a good time. I’ll let some other kid win those tickets.
Next time! MoCCA recap!
